Jana Spence was originally scouted by Trendease as an emerging designer for one of our new talent showcases. Since that exhibition, her career has blossomed. Little did we know, when doing this interview with Jana about her latest furniture collection—now at home in Kingsgate Castle—that she would later be honored by King Charles III as one of the 35 under 35: a network of makers and changemakers brought together to mark the 35th anniversary of the King’s Foundation, advocating for the change we want to see in the world. The ash is given to up-and-coming designer Rosy Napper, who makes tableware, lighting, furniture, and tiles, as well as an exclusive line of eco ceramics for the castle, using her ground-breaking material innovation.
